Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 14, 2026
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how KNOWLEDGETACK, LLC, doing business as KNOWLEDGETACK ("KNOWLEDGETACK," "we,"
"us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, create an account,
publish content, communicate with other users, purchase paid features, or otherwise interact with the platform.
In plain terms: we collect the information needed to run the platform, secure accounts, process payments,
support publishing and messaging features, understand how the site is used, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use Google Analytics. We plan to use a self-hosted OpenPanel analytics
setup so analytics data stays under infrastructure we control.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the KNOWLEDGETACK website, web application, and related services. It does not
apply to third-party websites, services, or payment pages that may be linked from or integrated with the
platform, except as described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information. When you register, we collect information such as your email address, username, password, and account status information.
- Profile information. If you choose to add it, we may collect your profile image, biography/about text, content visibility preferences, editor preferences, and related account settings.
- User content. We collect the information you create, upload, import, submit, or publish through the platform, including posts, services, bookmarks, uploaded documents, images, tags, topics, comments, testimonials, helpful links, and similar materials.
- Messages and interactions. If you use messaging or interactive features, we collect message content, thread metadata, subscriptions, votes, bookmarks, flags, downvote reasons, and similar activity data.
- Transaction and order information. If you purchase paid features or listings, we collect order records and related transaction data such as product details, amounts, taxes, status, checkout identifiers, and the IP address associated with checkout.
- Technical and usage information. We automatically receive certain technical information when you use the site, such as request metadata, device and browser information, page requests, response timing, and security-related information needed to operate and protect the service.
- Communications. If you contact us, reply to emails, or send support requests, we may collect the contents of those communications and any information you provide with them.
3. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you when you create an account, edit your profile, publish content, upload files, send messages, make purchases, or contact us.
- Automatically through the normal operation of the site, including server-side session handling, security protections, and application logs.
- Through self-hosted analytics tooling that we operate to understand product usage and improve the service.
4. How We Use Information
We use information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve KNOWLEDGETACK.
- Create and manage user accounts.
- Display profiles, content, and user activity according to your settings and actions.
- Process purchases, maintain transaction records, and administer paid features.
- Enable messaging, commenting, subscriptions, bookmarks, moderation, and other community features.
- Protect the platform, detect misuse, investigate abuse, and enforce our policies.
- Send service-related emails such as account verification, security notices, password resets, transactional emails, and essential administrative communications.
- Measure performance, understand product usage, diagnose problems, and improve the site experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
5. Public and Private Content
KNOWLEDGETACK allows users to create content that may be public or private, depending on the feature and the
settings selected by the user.
- Public content. If you publish content publicly, that content may be visible to other users, visitors, search engines, and anyone with access to the URL.
- Private content. If content is marked private, we intend not to display it publicly, but it may still be processed internally as needed to operate, secure, maintain, back up, review, or troubleshoot the service.
- Profile visibility. Your username and profile information may appear alongside content and activity where relevant to platform functionality.
6. Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics. We plan to use a self-hosted installation of OpenPanel to help
us understand site usage and improve KNOWLEDGETACK while keeping analytics infrastructure under our control.
Our analytics configuration is intended to be privacy-conscious and cookieless for analytics purposes. Depending
on configuration, analytics information may include page URLs, referrers, browser and device metadata, event
data, and coarse location information derived from network signals. We do not use analytics for cross-site
advertising profiles.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
KNOWLEDGETACK uses essential cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to function properly. These
may include cookies or tokens used for:
- Authentication and keeping you signed in.
- Session management.
- Security, fraud prevention, and CSRF protection.
- Remembering core functionality or user preferences where applicable.
We do not use Google Analytics cookies. If our self-hosted analytics configuration changes in a way that
materially affects cookie usage or tracking practices, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
8. Payments
If you purchase paid features or listings, payment processing may be handled through a payment processor such as
Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our application servers. We do store transaction, order,
and checkout-related records necessary to confirm payment status, fulfill purchases, prevent fraud, support users,
maintain accounting records, and comply with legal obligations.
9. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With the public. Public content, profile elements, and other information you choose to make public may be visible to others.
- With service providers. We may share information with vendors or infrastructure providers that help us operate the service, such as email delivery, hosting, storage, and payment processing providers, but only as reasonably necessary for those functions.
- For legal or safety reasons. We may disclose information if required to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, safety, or security of KNOWLEDGETACK, our users, or others.
- As part of a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, asset sale, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that process, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information for third-party advertising purposes.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, provide services, maintain
records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ
depending on the type of information involved.
- Account information is generally retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for legal, security, or operational reasons.
- Public content may remain available until deleted, unpublished, anonymized, or otherwise removed in accordance with platform features and policies.
- Order and transaction records may be retained longer for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance purposes.
- Technical logs and analytics data may be retained for shorter operational periods, subject to system configuration and legitimate business needs.
11. Account Deletion and Anonymization
KNOWLEDGETACK includes account deletion controls. Depending on the deletion option selected and the applicable
platform policy at the time of deletion, some public content may be deleted while some content may instead be
anonymized so that it can remain on the platform without directly identifying the original account.
Deletion may not immediately remove all information from backups, logs, archived systems, legal records, or other
limited retention environments where continued retention is reasonably necessary.
12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as
the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability.
You may also be able to:
- Update certain account and profile information directly from your account settings.
- Choose whether content is public or private where that option is available.
- Delete your account using available account-management tools.
- Contact us to request assistance regarding your information.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
To help protect our signup and other public forms from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible
mode. Turnstile runs a background browser check without requiring user interaction. To perform this check,
Cloudflare may process limited information about your device and network, such as IP address, browser details,
and interaction signals. For more information, see Cloudflare's
Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
14. Children's Privacy
KNOWLEDGETACK is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can
investigate and take appropriate action.
15. International Use
If you access KNOWLEDGETACK from outside the country where our infrastructure is located, your information may be
transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your
own. By using the service, you understand that such processing may occur, subject to applicable law.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by
updating the date at the top of this page, posting a notice on the site, or using other reasonable methods where
appropriate.
